Cold commute

Was a cold commute into work this morning but I see there was 2 other cyclists riding their bikes wearing shorts. Its -4c here in Glasgow this morning. Cyclist 1 cycling thru Rutherglen and cyclist 2 riding up towards Scottish Power I take my doff my cap to you.

-2c in Swindon this morning, the few cyclists I saw were well wrapped up including me, although not quite cold enough for my baselayer tights to be used.

-2.5C when I set out. I saw only 2 cyclists the entire way, but one of them was in shorts. He went past me and through a red light where I was waiting at a busy roundabout. Possibly the attire and the haste were connected?

-2 in Hull this morning, wrapped up this morning didn't see anyone else out. No way I could ride in shorts this weather my knees would snap

-3 when I set out this morning. I was wearing shorts, as I always do.... but supplemented with a pair of knee warmers...

Full on winter kit for me - winter bibs (with windproof section over thigh and knees) and my windproof thermal - toasty.

Merino baselayer, shirt, jacket.
Winter tights and boots, with skull cap and buff to keep my head and face warm.
Not sure of temperature but it must have been minus 1 or 2.
Its much colder at 5am than when you lightweights set off

Nice frost this morning, 3rd in a row. Took it easy as took the road bike this morning. Slippy in places. -2 according to met office but it felt colder. I was well wrapped up though!

There is frost on the roads. Might go abit later when the sun has melted the frost. Still lovely weather for a cycle!

Im just getting ready to go (late shift)but it will be cold coming home tonight. Normal workclothes and cycling jacket.

Don't know how cold it was in North Bristol today but I forgot my second pair of socks, so the wind whistled up round my ankles, and I had very cold feet too !

Thankfully it was just 8 miles and I have a hot shower when I get to work.

-11 here this morning. Merino wool vest, socks, glove liners and long johns did the job though. Bit skiddy in places on the road bike, but generally OK (providing lines and manhole covers are avoided).
