Coldwell Activity Centre cafe (near Colne) closing

I am planning a forum ride for March and have been checking out potential cafe stops. Coldwell Activity Centre is on the moors between Colne and Hebden Bridge and its cafe is an old favourite of mine, and many other local cyclists. I went on their website (LINK) to see if they are still on winter opening hours and found this notice:

PLEASE NOTE , THAT DUE TO THE EXPANSION OF THE RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION THE CAFE WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC AFTER THE END OF MARCH 2016.

IT WILL ALSO BE CLOSED THE WEEKEND OF THE 12TH AND 13TH MARCH DUE TO A PRIVATE FUNCTION.

WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OUR CUSTOMERS, PAST AND PRESENT, FOR THEIR SUPPORT OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS.

It's a pity because the cafe is in a lovely spot on a great cycle route, and it has a walled area which was a secure place to leave bikes. In sunny conditions we could sit at picnic tables next to the bikes. In less favourable conditions, we would sit in a conservatory overlooking the bikes.

If anybody fancies one last visit to the cafe, watch for details of my forum ride.

That's a real shame. I know the place well.

If you're looking for a refreshment stop on a weekend during pub hours, I can recommend the Shooters Arms which isn't that far from Coldwell.
