Colourful shorts for blokes

Hi!

I'm fed up of men's shirts being boring and black, and am getting insanely jealous of women's colourful bibs....so, any idea of where to get colourful men's bibs, or how much difference between men's and women's pads is there?

Of course you can buy mens bib shorts in a variety of colours there is no problem with that but if you are not cognisant of the difference between what a woman puts in her shorts compared to a man I can't help with that.

I tend to buy my shorts based on price (could never justify £100 on a pair.... well, maybe I could but will need to psyche myself up to it). Years ago I picked up a good quality pair of bibshorts (Pearl Izumi IIRC) for under £20 in a sale. They were a bright, shiny pink colour.

Avoid red (a la Polish cycling team)
And white...not kind to following cyclists who can see your hairy behind as they start to go see through

Women's pads are a different shape, I wouldn't risk it

Look at retailers like Alwys Riding and Sigma who might have brands different to Wiggle et al

Some of the team stuff can be colourful, look at Prendas and PBK
