Saw most of it myself on my 42 inch TV. Thank you Sky.

Glad that Ireland is my team as I would have no fingers left if I was an England fan;)

Mind you our boys have given me some tense finger biting finishes lately. Like the historic matches at the World Cup in the West Indies and last summer's ODI with your boys over here that we managed to lose from a winning position, although it was one of the boys you stole from us that won it for you in the end;)

I was there to see that game. Took great pride in knowing that I had played a small part in the development of two of Ireland's players on that day, Kyle McCallan & young Paul Stirling. Both boys played their first adult games with me as their captain. Kyle way back during my first season looking after our 3rd XI having retired from senior cricket and Paul a few years ago.

Kyle has just retired from International cricket. He played over 200 times for his country, captaining the side on numerous occasions. He started as an opening batsman and became probably the top off spinner in the world outside the test playing nations. Paul first played on my team when he was 8. I said from the start he would play for Ireland. He has turned out to be even better than I thought. An exceptional talent. He's probably good enough to play for England, but unlike Joyce & Morgan, I think he'll stay loyal to Ireland.

Perhaps he'd like to come and play for Sussex, Ed Joyce has been a good signing and at county level it's a benefit if they don't play for their country.

Kyle had trials at 2 or 3 counties a number of years back. None of them thought he was good enough! He's played in 2 World Cups, 99 List A matches, 39 ODI's and 25 First Class matches! During the World Cup one of the South African commentators said he would be an automatic choice for South Africa if he was one of theirs. As I said he's retired. He will be concentrating on his teaching job and raising a family. He was good enough to play county cricket, no doubt, but will now not get the chance.

Young Stirling has signed with Middlesex so no chance of Sussex getting their hands on him.

As for Joyce? I think you may see him back playing for Ireland again in the near future.
