This looks to be a possibility, however, British TT specialists with no international experience have a history of under-performing compared to the riders who regularly compete with the best. In every single case where a British TT specialist who does not ride internationally in road races has been selected for GB, they get hammered. Reasons for this? Technical courses, lesser skills on those courses, probelms with climate, you name it and it's been given as a reason. Jennie Longo may have been soldiering on close to 50, but she is an exception and has been world RR champion as well. Burton was the only Brit to do this, and only when the rest made the error of letting her go early.
The CGs is about giving the young and talented riders at very close to Olympic level experience of a major games environment, because in the greater international scheme of things, the CG means nothing.
So it's not likely that a 44 year old will get the nod, is it, decent rider though she is, frankly there is no future investment there and no likelihood of a podium.
