"we do have a young friend on the Welsh men's sprint squad"
In the bronze finals, but would need to find quite a bit of time to beat TandT.

Some of the events are a bit embarassing. The one para pursuit race had 6 riders, two of those were sprinters who had to ride due to some rule and in the case of Kadeena Cox just used it as a practice for the kilo. Of the others, the gaps were massive (trying to actually find them is proving near impossible). There were also only 5 teams in the women's team sprint (England, Scotland, wales, Australia and NZ). It's all a bit sad really.

Indeed, it seems the CW Games is on it's last gasp, it just isn't a priority for most riders.
Perhaps each sport should just have a low-key Home Champs for the 4 UK nations. It would give young riders a taste of "international" competition. But the best of them are already going to the Junior Worlds and Europeans.

Team Sprint gold for Wales’ women. The men couldn’t ride their bronze medal match due to a rider falling ill before the start.

Following with interest too 😁

*On a similar vein: I got dropped off here on Saturday - prior to the Dunwich Dynamo run.

I wish I’d have had more time / made more time to go in look, investigate and watch. Nothing more local to me I don’t think (?) and having never seen it in person before I think it would have been very interesting and enlightening !

Had a track afternoon there, through work, with a Paralympic gold medalist about 12 years back. Track riding round the banking when racing is insane. We were told one thing, what ever you do,do not slow down, and do not try and stop pedalling!

Another Wales v England final in the women's pursuit. I think it's between the current world champion and current world record holder so should be a good match up and their qualifying times were close. Finucane looking in great form in the sprint.

Rachel is having a good Games as coach

Yup
Just been watching her starting off the sprint girls.
Becky and George are up there too, as Becky is track cycling ambassador for Wales.
She’s also being on the Mic, doing some punditry.

They've just had a catch in the men's pursuit after 550m! The guy from Sierra Leone is on a standard track bike matched with Josh Charlton, the current world champion. He's made a third catch after just over 2km (both riders have to do the full distance as its timing for positions).

Sierra Leone rider was over 1:30 slower than Charlton. I think I could have potentially ridden it quicker

Gold and bronze in the sprint. From the first round of the final Capewell never looked like she thought she could win on speed and that trying to force an error was the only chance.

Surprised to see Awang still competing, it must be 15 years since he got that little splinter in his leg.

Aussie dominance in the men’s IP with all three medals.
