Personal Best today 15.6 miles in just over an hour 14.9 mph . I hadn't even made 13 before today. Must be the bib tights I bought in Decathlon on Saturday.

What route do you take?

Yes please, I have swapped my shift tomorrow so I start at 9:30. That will give me time to shower and change when I get in.

Can you PM me a meeting place please?

I sometimes go that way, but as I start at 10:00, I am just getting up at 7:30

Did Hornchurch-Rush Green, Becontree, Valance Ave to A13 today. Went Barking, East Ham on Thursday. Still not sure which is best. Although my arse hurt going that way with all the pot holes in the Romford Road.

compared to my normal rides the A13 and A12 seemed like the devils highways to me, never relaxed once on them.

...ah! - the whiff of burning rubber, the blizzard of brake linings - the bleak ants' nests of supermarket sheds - "it's life as we know it Jim" Al...

Now, if you had gone for that family ride on Friday morning, things might be different...(hope all is ok as poss.)

10am! Alright for some! What time do you ride home? I think we will be taking a similar route but via Longbridge Road.

Hopefully we will be avoiding the A13, the A1306 I can cope with. After driving on the A13 in my old job and seeing the amount of motorbikes getting knocked down it didn't make it look too inviting I must say!

Funnily enough I'm feeling zero nostalgia for those two roads, no matter how poetically you describe them:biggrin:

Still waiting to hear from Jane following surgery, hopefully she's in recovery now, fingers crossed. Crazy that we can all hoof it down roads like that and emerge unscathed yet she breaks a leg dismounting on a cycle path.

Will do, nice and early start for me then! I normally get up at 7am anyway.

I have attached a map and circled where I believe you mean - is this correct? If so, see you tomorrow.

I alternate 8-4 and 10-6. So with 15 minutes to get changed and down to the basement I leave work at 10 past :?:
The A13 CP is OK, a lot smoother than the Barking Road.
Mind the speed bumps down The Chase and the bees and the debris from the burn out car at the western end.
