Yes, my thoughts exactly.

I did the ride on Saturday, broadly following the route given by Mr Cellphane above.

It was a nice day and the ride went well. However, I was knackered by the time I'd done it, so my plan is to save this little treat for summer mornings when it's warmer and lighter, leave my bike at work that night, and cycle home the next day. A good experience though, so thanks for the words of wisdom

well done, still wouldnt do it for my commute though :ohmy:

this weekend I'm planning a 100k again, and Rayleigh is about halfway - the thought of doing that before a days work ...

That's the beauty of a Brompton: you can. Ditto tube, bus or taxi. :-)

I worked on client premises in Canary Wharf for a couple of months: cycled to my local station, train to Stratford, cycled along the canal to Canary Wharf - a lovely way to start and end the day.
