Try and stick to proper roads as i cant imagine they are great on tow paths etc etc

You imagine? They're better on rough surfaces than you might imagine if you've good and fairly wide tyres, but dents in any road are more troublesome than with larger wheels, so I'd avoid the cobbles.

I agree. And far better than a Brommie!
They really are go almost-anywhere bikes and very comfortable.

I used to use a Raleigh Twenty between buildings at work, and security patrols on parking decks. Silent, compared to a vehicle, great for arriving on scene when shenanigans were afoot.
