Can anyone recommend any cycle clothing which is suitable to wear in the office?

I currently cycle to my place of work and I work in a smart office environment. I take my morning commute at a leisurely pace on a hybrid, so I feel that I do not need to wear specialist cycle wear (lycra!).

Are there any brands that combine cycle wear technology (lightweight/breathable/anti sweat shirts and stretch of trousers etc) and smart office styles? I know Ted Baker have a range, but that it upwards of £90 a shirt.

Any recommendations or discussion on the area would be great.

Probably too late but Marks and Spencer's were clearing outvtheir cycling Chinos at a Tenner

Ideal for cycling and easily smart enough for work

Don't get stuck with cycling

There are a number of outdoor manufacturers such as Rohan Craghoppers and others do exactly what you need with the addition of a good pair of padded undershorts

Also Craghoppers are available at cut price in TK Maxx, Debenhams and other outlets

Yes, any type of walking trousers are good - they dry easily if it rains. They do tend to be a bit flappy around the ankle though so I have to fasten mine up with those velcro cycle clip things.

outlash

also available in orange
A lot of Vulpine's range is clothing just very nice stuff that works on the bike too. I have couple of bits of theirs and I wear them as normal clothing. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for etc etc....

I only used padded shorts above 1 1/2 hrs ride. Wicking polycotton underwear, close fitting (briefs not boxers) are probably best but I generally use std cotton ones.

Craghoppers are a bit flappy behind the knee. Rohan have a closer cut, as do Go-Outdoors own brand.
Rohan office shirts are nice but everyone copies their concepts, so no need to splash out.
If you can invest in a quality Merino wool T shirt, you won't get whiffy.

I used to guffaw at suggestions like this. Till I did it over the summer. And it just works. Ride at a sensible pace ( still quicker than by car  ) I don't get sweaty orrid and saves me struggling to get changed on some of the smaller sites. Wednesday this week was a problem with the rain so just wore baggy shorts instead and changed into smart trousers in the bogs.

Fairly standard cph modus operandi. But with a cape and full, deep mudguards, and a situpandbeg riding position many don't even need to change.

And it rains much less often than we all think.

As well as the excellent cycling chinos (still not shrunk after several wash cycles) tgat I ride and wear to eotk. TBH the grey are a brtter firmal colour IMO tgan the blue.

M&S do active wear chinos too, a cotton twill, more office standard, material but still with inbuilt stretch at the waist and cut for active comfort. £30 and available instore as well as online. But the cycling ones are excellent all round & shower (not water) proof, if you can get some
