A friend of mine in London is after a bike to get across the city to University on, he's pretty open minded about what type of bike he gets but has a fairly strict budget.

Does anyone have a bike they've not used for yonkers and would like a bit of cash and a bit of extra shed space?

We've had a look on Gumtree but I don't have a ton of enthusiasm for recommending a bike from an unknown source.

Said friend is 173cm tall, I think, and about 81 cm inside leg.

If he's open to what sort of bike it is, have a look at the rockrider 5.0 from decathlon. I'ts a rigid MTB and although made from bottom end comonents it is actually built decently (gadget show found it was the best bike in the price range by a long way) and it's only £100.

Not the best bike in the world but would make a good cheap london commuter

I've got an oldish B'Twin Sport 1 that I've had from new which I never ride any more. If he can get to south east London, he can have it for £50. PM me if you think he might be interested.

Decathlon have a decent looking Riverside hybrid for £150 new if no luck second hand  Make sure he gets a strong lock for London uni parking

Andrew, your friend has just taken the bike. Sam seemed comfortable on it but let's see how the ride home without padded shorts (I assume) treats his netherness!
