commuter suggestions

Hi, I have been commuting on a Scott sub sport electric hybrid bike for the last 6 years and it has been fantastic. Somehow the motor has become water damaged and is a write off (I’ve had several people confirm this)
the rest of the bike is in used but fair condition, the question is do I replace the motor...... or look for something else via the cycle to work scheme.
I have a couple of other bikes, including an e mountain bike, but none of them come anywhere close to the comfort of the Scott, with it’s full mudguards, rack etc.
Any thoughts? or suggestions of a comparable bike at a decent price

It will be cheaper - probably - to get a new motor if they are available

but then you have an old bike with an old battery for x pounds

but it is a bike that you know

if you get a decent replacement then you will have a new bike with zero wear and tear for y pounds

so it depends on the x and y
and how you feel about bikes and change

You could go round and try out a few new ones - LBS's often don;t mind a short test ride - and see how that feels

and you could use the old saddle on the new bike if that helps

Thanks for the reply. All things considered I think a new bike makes most sense.
Any suggestions on a decent priced bike for commuting, with full mudguards, rack and lights. Similar to the Scott I have been using? am a bit limited where I live regarding LBS’s so online is my main option.

As you've had great times from a good brand the obvious solution is to get another from a well-known brand again, not necessarily Scott as there are several good brands. You are used to a proper bike and might be disappointed by something lesser. Buying a generic brand online is not an ideal option, let alone a good one.

Even though you think you are not near an LBS with expertise in ebikes, keep looking....they may be nearer than you think. You need a test ride of the alternatives on offer. They may well have last year's models at a good discount. Please don't consider anything but a proper shop.

Finally an LBS is vital if you run into problems, even a minor one, which the warranty would look after. As you commute you can take financial advantage of a Cycle to Work scheme, mostly run through good bricks-and-mortar shops.

Not sure about the price these days but my Raleigh Motus has been great
came with mudguards, rack and chain guard so we just ready to go

They do use a Bosch motor system with seems to be a case of it'll keep working for ever
until it doesn't and then just replace the whole thing that failed

The Orbea VibeH30 EQs at £1549 aren't a bad spec at all at Pauls, a few colours but limited sizes left.
