Hi I was wondering if anyone cycles from/through Alderley edge station to Alderley Park? I'm about to work at Alderley Park and would love to cycle there from the station (at peak times) but the narrow road is off putting. Does anyone do this route? Have any advice or alternative suggestions?
Thanks!

I know the road but not in rush hour. What about using the cycle path along the A34 which is a bit longer but brings you out near Alderley Park

Well, it depends on your preference.

If you fancy a bit of Cheshire Roubaix, you can climb Swiss Hill (one of the 100 climbs) and descend Bradford Lane, both cobbled. Fun and fitness guaranteed.

Easy and not too much traffic, take Ryleys lane to the bypass then the first cycle exit afterwards. Functional but not much fun on the bypass cycle way.

But if it were me I'd just go up the main road. No longer horrendous since the bypass was built.

There are cycle changing facilities on the site, not sure how you get access.

There are a couple of easy routes.
The first one uses the wide cycle path along the bypass and is about 3.5 miles.

The second one is along the old road through the village and is about 2 miles.

I would suggest that you try them both before deciding which to use. Route 1 keeps you way from the traffic on a separate path whereas route 2 is shorter but is on road all the way.

If you are feeling fit you could climb up the hill to The Wizard pub and then back down Artists Lane, but the climb to the pub is quite steep.
