Yay! Just beat my personal best - managed to get from Woolwich to Holborn Circus in 43 minutes. Don't know what my speed was, as I still haven't got round to buying myself a computer, but I'm pretty proud of myself. That beats every single method of transport I've ever used on this route, including a car.
BTW, had a pedestrian jumping in fronf of me on King William Street, close to Bank station. He didn't hear my bell, he was looking in the other way and... he was wearing a high visibility vest marked "Traffic Warden" ;)

One Paramedic says to his colleague, "Would you credit it? While this guy's been lying on the road, some cheeky bastard has run off with his bike."

One Paramedic says to his colleague, "He was riding a fantastic bike. I always wanted a bike like that".
"Maybe his widow will sell it to you".

One Paramedic say to his colleague, "Do you think he'll be identified, his face is a mess?"
"Of course, only one idiot round here wears THAT colour lycra".

Did you see that programme where the guy "raced" a guy in a car from Northfield to Brum (6 miles)
Now this route I hear is flatish and downhill.
The biker on his Roadie is a keen cyclist has raced and owns a bike shop. He did this 6 miles in 21 mins - Av speed 17mph ish.

that doesn't sound too fast. unless there was heavy traffic or a lot of lights he had to stop at.

21 minutes though from leaving the shop.
If his little computer stopped everytime he did it probably was less.
I imagine he kept to the speed limit too

Prob with the 'race the car' cycling stunts is :- the cyclist is kitted up ready and on the pavement with his/her bike when the race starts.

These kind of things should be from alarm clock sounding to sitting at office desk / workstation.

And time taken to find a parking space.
Getting ready is prob going to be the same its arriving thats the differance.
