Thats interesting, I ride nothing but fixed right through the winter.
I fell off mine this morning 100 yards from my front door. Pedestrian crossing, I'm stopped in cycle lane, lights go green, clumsy oaf pushes down hard on pedal, back wheel spins, cue clumsy oaf lying in gutter.

Put me right off, walked home, swore some oaths, caught a train, have been in lousy mood all day as a result.

Did you do yourself or, more importantly, the bike any damage, apart from the foul mood?

scuffed bar tape and ego and put a hole in my windshell.

So not a disaster then, I've only been off the Pearson once, with the help of a Ford Focus, about 2 months after I brought it, bike was OK, a few scuffs and scrapes, I had three weeks off work with a badly bruised back, its what led me to cycle chat, laid up at home bored messing about on the computer and found this place, been spending too much time on here since.

If you do a search you'll find the thread that shows what happened when my fixed bit back the only other time I've come off it (or any other road bike).

Cycle chat is a wonderful piece of escapism from the 'pressures' of work for me. Certainly spend too much time in here, but on the other hand, I've made a fair few flesh'n'blood mates from hanging out in these parts
