Thanks to BigonaBianchi and richp, in particular, for being decent.

The original post details were scant however my intention was for them to be more of a prompt to find someone who may have the same dates free and to then discuss with that person or group in more detail, as opposed to leaving a detailed itinerary, which I don't have yet.

I could do up to 50 miles per day depending on the final route.

Thanks.

I leave this thread feeling a bit disappointed and judged.
This is a good example of the printed word being misinterpretated.
Nowhere have I seen any evidence of judgement. It was BigonaBianci who mentioned judgement [his misinterpretation] and it was picked up and run with.
I read encouragement and advice. I also read admiration at such a nice, laid back, approach to a tour.
Embarrassed? About what?

Spot on.

Polite has received mostly relevant replies and a couple of daft ones.

About par for the internet forum course and certainly nothing to get vexed about.

I've edited the thread title to include some key words that will hopefully get more targetted searches on both here and Google and I've also added the additional info to the first post.

John makes a reasonable point though about 25 miles per day - it's both a very relaxed pace and a short distance and you'd need a very compact area of France to find B&B's and sight-seeing opportunities so close together. It may be worth considering a change of wording to "up to 60 miles per day depending on the final route".

It may seem like a tall order if you've not done 60 miles before, but with a companion to cycle with, sights to see, the warm (and hopefully quiet) countryside to enjoy - the miles will just roll away - you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Let us know how you get on and if you do manage to find a companion come back and tell us all about it and show us the photos!! ^_^

Good luck,
Shaun
