Hi,
I've only taken up riding in the last few months (340miles so far in about 25 hours) I have an old Ridgeback Adventure 501CS Hybrid bike that I acquired for free and using for 8 mile return commute on days that I can.
Last week I popped into Bicicielo in Birmingham (if you are anywhere near pop in - friendly staff and lovely bikes) I couldn't believe the weight of some of the bikes there! Amazing!
There is no way I'd be able to get permission from SWMBO to blow over 3k on a bike. But I could probably sneak some upgrades past her.
Is it at all feasible to completely replace this bike in stages say over a year or so, keeping it rideable and end up with something half decent.
So start with wheels, then seat and bars and gears, crank, forks and frame.
Would that be possible? Would modern parts fit?
Lawrence......
