The admin fee is already in the price of the bike, unless it is a sale bike(often they will add 10% to a sale bike price for a C2W purchase).
Not always, and less frequently these days. See for example, https://www.planetx.co.uk/cycle-scheme
"
Additional Payments
An admin fee of 10% applies with a cyclescheme.co.uk, On Your Bike and Bike2work vouchers, as well as a Salary Extras letter of collection. A 12% fee applies with Cycle Plus vouchers and a 12.5% fee applies with the NHS SME HCI scheme.
We keep our prices competitive by selling at very low margins. All of these organisations charge us a fee on each bike we supply to a customer as part of the cycle scheme so we pass this exact charge on to you without adding anything extra ourselves. The additional charge DOES NOT APPLY if an employer is paying us directly for the bike."

I am being told essentially the same thing in LBS bike shops when I ask

It must be LBS specific then as I bought a Genesis Croix de Fer last year from a local bike shop with a Cyclescheme voucher and no extra fee was added.
I have previously bought sale bikes with C2W vouchers and each time the have added 10% to the price but both shops stated they would not have added the 10% if it were not sale bikes. When I visited several LBS's last year not one would have added a 10% fee, including a Hargroves. Also a friend of mine is about to buy a sale bike with a Cyclescheme voucher, for a bike over £1000 cheaper than RRP and they have stated they will not be adding a 10% fee.

Thanks for the info. I shall try to find a shop that doesn't add this 10%

As far as I am aware a company can run their own Cycle to Work Scheme. It simply means the company needs to provide all the paperwork / agreement. In this case the company will buy the bike direct from the shop (you will have to choose and prepare this).
Most cyclescheme's charge for the service (10% or £100 ? also see above 400bhp comments) which can be passed on to you.

That's what we did - we're a small company but did all the paperwork in house. I bought my bike with a company cheque.

They all seem to be slightly different, mine is a straight 18 month hire, followed by a £1 to then own it. After which my tax code is altered so that I pay back the tax on the 21% fair market value of the £1000 at the end of the 18 months. The other options I have heard is that afte the intial pay back period you then agree to hir eht biek for a nominal fee for a furhter period till the bike is worth very little. Its swings and roundabouts it would seem, sometimes there is more to be gained buying a bike in a sale and paying outright or on 0% finance.

Anyone answer me this query.

Working in civil service, if I change from one department to another. I retain my civil service benefits such as holidays and pension scheme

would I be treated as leaving one employer for another for the C2W scheme rules?

Thanks for drawing this to my attention. I emailed the bike shop where I will probably buy the bike I probably want and they confirmed that on a full RRP bike, they won't pass on this charge to me. I must have got my wires crossed and I think this is something LBS's do if the bike is on sale or discounted.

Has anyone had to pay the final payment upfront ?

I have had £120 come out of my salary this month after my scheme started (£1k spent)

No-one has come back to explain why this has come out. Also it say Account Arrears on my payslip.

No, how can the final payment not be the "final payment".
At the end of the hire you should be given three options.

Yeah I know I have used 2 different schemes 4 times, This will be my 5th.
I have also Tendered for a supplier in my previous role. I am just guessing what the £120 deduction for my salary could be and the cyclesheme amount is the only one I can think it could be.

My employer does things differently.

Budget was £1111.11 although they agreed to go higher if i wanted (in the end i didn't). The "hire" period is over 10 months and then the bike is mine, end of. Some are now on their 2nd bike having finished the 1st and then just ordering another.

My Synapse 105 disc rrp was £1099.00, i worked out i am paying £634.00 for it.
