confused on serial number

Hi, i am registering my bike on bike shepherd and immobilize. asking for my serial number, on my build and pre delivery certificate under serial number it has 8 letters, but on my bike frame, it has a number and 9 letters, have a feeling its second one but whats the one on my certificate for? thanks

You'll find the serial number on the none drive side on the bottom bracket on the Boardmans mate .. starts with a letter then the numbers

thanks norm, them bike shepherd stickers are theft proof alright, put 1 on dodgy, went to adjust and now cant get thing off haha
