Constructive feedback from commuters

Hi guys and gals

I should start by saying that this isn't me promoting a web site - the site isn't properly live and not promoted in anyway yet!

I have a web site that is designed to back up the cycling community with facts and figures, as well as report on cycling news and incidents.

I am a passionate cyclist myself and think that the education of drivers is an important part of improving safety and acceptance of cyclists on the road.

From discussions with friends, I've been advised that some of the complaints against cyclists are most keenly felt by those commuting to work. Hence why I am posting this here!

If you have some time, I'd be really grateful for the commuters on here to take a look at the web site and offer constructive feedback about things you would add, change or take away.

I am sure there's a lot of knowledge on here!

Thanks
Jason

Nice clear site, pretty good content and easy to navigate. I'd say it's a little light on content right now but that's understandable as it's new.

I personally don't think the insurance and registration issues are myths as such, they're debatable points and I think the site should be a little more unbiased... but that's a minor point I guess.

Thanks for the feedback!

It's a good point about the registration and insurance myths actually being debatable points. I need to think about how to change that, as it fits in with the complaints against cyclists, so should stay with the other points.

Also, a fair point that it's a little biased. But I think it'd be wrong to pretend it's a neutral site, only to continually fall on the side of cyclists. Something to think about though.

I'd put links to the cycling myths in each cycling myth page, maybe down the right hand side? Or 'next' and 'back' buttons to nagivate through them.

I quite like it, but agree that it needs more content to prevent it from feeling like a blog.

I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of the site is? But I guess that's for you to be concerned with, not me!

Thanks everyone for the feedback - I have made some changes, so please feel free to re-visit!

There have been a lot of visitors to the site from this web site - over 35 in fact, so come on commuters, please offer your feedback, I'd really appreciate it!!

Found a typo - on the page about registration plates, they can't be attached underneath the seat as "this is WEAR cyclists attach their lights" - should be WHERE.

My other thought is that you probably should have something about helmets & hi-vis - I'm very well aware these are very controversial subjects...

To echo someone further up: who do you hope will use your site? What will it give them that they cannot get from other sites?

Fair weathered, fair minded but easily persuaded.
You say you want to educate drivers , can you have ago at educating cyclists too.
There is some appalling cycling out there.

Agree with all the above posts and very definitely the comments about what will your site give that people cannot get elsewhere?
