Who, me ?
Just got my new debit card which says that if I want to pay "by contactless" I have to touch the card against the card reader.

World's gone mad. Still, I suppose if you wanted to pay "by proximity" you might end up with more than you bargained for if you were just passing through.

"Touch the card against the reader until the display says OK. Which you can't see, because the card's in the way!"

Some buses now have the readers fitted. Taking payment as you go past the machine, without having to get the card out!

I like it. Quick and it slows down the cash drainage. I did wonder while on a rare bus ride whether it would read my Oyster card or my contactless debit card but it hasn't got it wrong yet.

I really like it, and there's practically zero chance of accidentally buying something

Wot he says. For all the times I forget my Oyster

Can you get receipts somehow when you use contactless on London Underground? Getting the cost reimbursed is a bit tricky otherwise

Not sure to be honest, I've never needed one.

However, the one thing that did worry me initially was the amount you could spend on it. Not being an oyster card user/native londoner I didn't realise that they charged you the equivalent lowest comparable amount .... ie, if you use the tube all day, you'll never get charged more than say a zone 1-4 travelcard if thats the area in which you travelled.
