Oh dear. Hadn't bought a bike since my Redline BMX in 1983 until I treated myself to a new cross bike last April. Last night I popped out and bought a mountain bike. OK, only cheap and second hand but I'm so enjoying off-roading with my kids I wanted something a little more suitable.

Of course, I now want a lean, mean road bike as well.

Just the one? Having nearly got my road bike the way I want it (at 5x my initial investment) I'm now starting to question why 'everyone' else seems to need a separate winter/training bike...and I don't?
