I was a little irked this morning....route onto (a good) off-road cycle path, avoinding heavy traffic on large roundabout, just completely blocked by a bin wagon parked there. Forcing cyclists out into the flow of traffic at the precise point where traffic is trying to pull left at the end of a bus lane

The bin wagon was completely blocking the cycle exit
However I think I am going to send off a NICE letter to Veolia, after I was rather accusing "would you park like that if it were across a road junction?", after the initial exchanges of "we've got x amount of stuff to shift" and me saying "I know you have your job to do", it ended quite amicably when it was clear that it was only about parking a couple of inches differently, just to leave room for bikes without having to move into traffic then get up a decent height kerb.
I'm reckoning if I thank the team for the friendly nature and just drop in the quick reminder something like "I'm sure that it was unintentional and that they'll keep an eye out not to block the lane" they may park a little further forward or back to reach the flats.
I just think that sometimes it's not always so much about who is in the right or in the wrong, as trying to ensure that next week at the same time, the problem doesn't arise at all, then everyone is happy.
Except the w***ers who shot down the bus lane then got stuck behind the bin wagon, but don't really care about them at all
