2007. spent some time in Uruguay, saw some fantastic (IMO) vehicles, even everyday ones were interesting because you either don't see them nowadays, or they are still in everyday use...
1930s Chevrolet pickup.
Slightly earlier pickup, I can't remember the manufacturer now.
1960s Merc
The blue one in the background is their version of our Vauxhall Chevette
An alternative to motorised transport..
Like something from the Hell drivers movie..
I suspect this was 1920s, maybe 1930s, still in use in 2007.
Pickup trucks are always cool...1960s ?
Trucks can be cool..an International IIRC.
The oldest I saw was a circa 1910 Rugby motor car trundling up the 'promenade' in the town I was staying. Those almost carriage large type wheels with spokes, a concertina type pull back roof (like a pram) and a young couple driving it. I think there's a culture of just driving for the enjoyment of it.
I did have a photo of a circa 1930 Ford Model T pickup, for sale, 900 dollars IIRC, that was similar to the first photo.
Also...
Broken down on the way to work one morning. The taxi driver knew the guy, said he was so so proud of that car. Chevrolet I think.
All taken in Carmelo and Nueva Palmira.
Finally, I genuinely think this used to be my car...
Spotted on a ride, circa 15 miles from where I live. Taken about 6 years ago, I think its the one I owned circa 1980-1985.
