cool real world game, good for reason to go out, visit historical sites

im not intending to sound like an advertising agent or something.
but iv recently started to play a real world game called ingress. it is soo, fun!
iv found i go out more since i got it.

you need an android or iphone for it to work.

it involves people taking over local landmarks, and claiming it for themselves. your job is to visit those local landmarks, and take it back. there are also various vurtual "protection" for the landmarks that need to be overcome.

and if like me you need more motivation to go out, this is just the ticket, give it a try. (besides im bored, not many ppl attacking my sites. i need some compitition!)

there you go, http://www.ingress.com/ its, run by google and is completely free, would love to see this game with virtual reality goggles, also iv found out that if theres a historical place that hasnt been portaled you can put your own there

No, on the start screen of the app when it fired up. I will try the webpage later.

you just log in with your android google acount, and the code will be sent via google mail, once its in your inbox you just open the game and it will add autamaticly (how it worked for me)

they are all over the place, anywhere there is a historical land mark there is a "portal" you have to take over, but yeh there are some in the countryside, i believe there are some on Hadrians wall. its a bit like a giant game of capture the flag, also once you have captured somewhere you can add protection, but you have to maintain it now and then, and before you know it you have yourself a regular route
