I think I read recently that they can now take their bikes on the trains for free - whereas previously they had to purchase a ticket. That they are actively promoting the bike:train bit.

I don't speak Danish but I've spent plenty of time in Copenhagen. To me, Mrs Angry doesn't appear to have a native Danish accent.

This youtube footage is not clear at all as to what is going on .........

If indeed it is about being denied entry onto a bus with a bike ............. why FFS would you want to take a bike on a suburban bus anyway !
Beejeebers, ride it !! That's what bikes are for.

Don't speak the lingo so it really is as clear as mud what is going on.

According to the description, it's a bus laid on as replacement for a train which was cancelled for track work, not a suburban bus on a 3 mile route.

Yep. And if the bus followed the same policies that the train operator did then it shouldnt be a problem. :stop:

Then again, wouldn't you love to live in a city that offered facilities like this sort of resting area for cyclists?

I'd love any city that let me rest my hand here

My bike went on a replacement bus laid on between Stafford and Birmingham International :-).

(I did, through a mistake by Virgin Trains, manage to get a cycle reservation on a cancelled train, which is why they made an exception for me.)

Indeed. No idea what happened beforehand. Did he just barge on to the bus without checking if he can take the bike on first? Did he push to the front, be in some way aggressive? Was he rude? No idea - maybe he wasn't, maybe he was.

It's quite a one sided version of events.

As an aside, I've sometimes wondered if the non-cycling Copenhaganers hold a certain amount of resentment towards cyclists for the apparent special service they get.

They're not as well loved as Brits seem to think out there. This is the impression I get online.xx(
