We owned a dyson animal, supposed to be great for removal of hair as we have a black labrador, in all honesty from the day we got bought it, never worked properly, the ball never properly moved the bagless area always blocked up.. would not waste my money again.

we now have a faithful Henry which was less than half the price of the dyson, much more reliable and resiliant.

Dyson vacs are the biggest marketing con ever perpetrated; they sell because Dyson realised that humans love devices that give the most effect for the least effort, which is why they have a transparent container, where you can see all the impressive dust. What people don't realise is that they are heavy, noisy, fragile, over-complicated and unreliable. My local vac repair shop is slowly being overwhelmed by a forest of broken Dysons standing around awaiting spare parts, the bloke there hates them with a vengeance saying they're rubbish.

It's a pity Numatic don't make a cordless Henry because the mains Henry is such a good robust and simple design.

Just got back from the hospital after using a Dyson Ball cleaner for the first time. Apparently that's not its intended use.

I have Dyson DC10, had it 11 years, not had a problem with it ever. Don't know about the cordless on though.

Has anyone on this forum got one of these? I am thinking about buying a Dyson DC44. It has very good reviews on the John Lewis website, but I do not know anyone who has bought one

We have one... Best couple hundred quid we've ever spent... with tiles and wood all through the house it beats getting the vacuum out to do a quick wizz around.
