Could this be a late 50's Claud Butler?

I have been going around in circles trying to identify this frame for months and I keep coming back to Holdsworth/Claud Butler. Any help or input is appreciated.

Anything about it that's a bit different like a curved brake bridge or a frame number?

visit this site, click claud butler in the left nav, and browse the catalogues to see if you can find a match. bear in mind that back in the day, it was cheaper to buy a bike bit by bit, so specs often varied from the catalogue…

Ellis Briggs had 4 digit serial numbers. I had an enquiry and they can trace the bike from the number. Give them a call or email and they will reply

I emailed them a few months ago and they said it wasn't one of theirs. I think the numbers of the serial are the wrong size. They suggested that Holdsworth/Claud Butler could be a possibility.
