I was only really talking about them in the sense of the accident depicted and being in London and the south east originally in the late '70s and early/mid '80s.
With the privatised railways, just about anything can happen now and a few were moved south again about 12 or more years back, like the unit in your picture at Euston, but they are still mostly associated with Merseyrail these days along with the class 507s.
I was not going to give too much of a history as this isn't really the thread for it.
Anyway, I am up as we just had the biggest Thunder and Lightning storm in ages pass over.
