Lesson learned this morning.

Took out the hybrid for the first time in ages for a ride with my daughter on her basketted wonder.
Tyres down to 40 psi on the hybrid, not ridden it in about 3 months, but inflated and no problem.
Daughter's bike completely flat rear. Spanners out to release wheel, no quick release, huge hole in tube, not sure how as bike been in garage and no damage to the tyre.

Replaced with new tube, which wouldn't hold pressure, also had a hole in it, now this was straight out of the saddlebag, never been used etc and about 6 months old. Had another one thank goodness so used this and we managed our ride.

Lesson is to check your spares cos if this had happened away from the garage it would have been rather frustrating.
Will buy a couple new tubes tomorrow to put back in hybrid's spares bag. Was nice to have the mudguards on and ride with dry feet, although the roads were pretty slippy with leaves and cow shi*t.

Need to tighten the release on the MTB pedals on the hybrid, foot releasing all the time compared to my Look's on the road bike.

Had a similar experience last week with my wife's road bike, got some 2nd hand wheels from a hybrid to replace her tubs, fitted narrower tubes and tyres and all was good for about 10 mins when we heard a pop and the tyre was dead flat, checked the tyre etc no obstructions so in went a brand new tube, all good then pop,again,3 new tubes in total all with big holes in,turned out the rim tape had a hole over one of the countersunk spokes, new rim tape and job done, thats one lesson i learned.
