After yesterday’s ride stats hadn’t down loaded from myWahoo to my I phone but had to my I pad Also the battery is running down a lot faster I wondered if this is in some way due to the Covid app running

Switched the app off and Strava was showing my stats from yesterday’s ride Wondered if anyone had experienced this our was it just a glitch I’m sure some one who understands these things will be able to advise.

It does appear that the App is quite battery hungry. I just turn off the Contact tracing if I’m not actually checked in inside a venue. I wouldn’t have it running if outside cycling

I left mine on overnight to test.

Battery went from 100% to 77% 11:30 to 8am

Maybe it varies by phone  I've not had an issue with an iPhone 11 either. Maybe 'can be' is better than 'is'.

However, I see no reason to have it on while I am at home or in the car for example.
I checked in at the hospital and gym yesterday, I didn't go anywhere else

if bluetooth needs to be kept on for the covid tracing app to work, no wonder battery gets drained a lot quicker.

Mrs D has found its shcking away the battery on her ibone 11, but she works in a school so the pooptooth is pribably going nuts.

I cant download apps to my old phone, so shall live in blissful ignorance.

I'm on an iPhone 6, so I believe I can't download the app anyway - only works on newer versions of iOS. Phone still works fine (got the battery replaced last year), so have no need to upgrade until I've run it completely in to the ground!

The Iphone 6 is still very popular, my daughter and quite a number of my colleagues have them. Silly oversight TBH.

Silly oversight TBH.

More than an oversight it was a decision that was made, which obviously took into account development cost and time.

Obviously, when it's time to make this type of decisions, you can bet your money than Gov/NHS are going to make the wrong one.
