Besides one (maybe two) tubes, a pump and levers, there are other items it is prudent to carry, and surely a slip of paper with ICE etc details is among these. And if you are incapacitated, people will look in your pockets if they want to know who you are or who to call/tell.

So in addition to one (maybe two) tubes, a pump and levers,
there's the phone and a debit card and
my standard plastic bag has:
Combi tool, tyre boot, patches, emergency emergency bar (small), beer/coffee tokens, ICE details, two zip ties
I also have a spare link, a spare M5 bolt, a spare cleat bolt and washer, emergency front and back minilights and a lens cloth
I have not included clothing items or food that I might consume in this list (or the front door key).

I got dog tags made, with my details on them and instructions to feed my cat
Also 2 ICE on my not password protected phone.

My ICE details are visible through the lock screen on my phone, but it may get broken in a fall or accident. I keep an expired bank card and a HGV CPC card that has my address on it in a small wallet that contains my cake and coffee funds. It lives in my back jersey pocket or backpack, depending on what I'm riding at the time.

Speaking from personal experience, paramedics seldom go through your pockets these days. Just in case anything should go missing.

I've had the card and green dot on my motorcycle helmet since the scheme first started, recommended by an ambulance man. I never thought of doing the same on the bicycle, but it would make sense to.

The bike frame has been tagged by the Met in one of their anti-theft campaigns. I also carry a debit card. If I have the misfortune to be totally incapacitated, they can track me down from those two sources. After all, I won't be in any hurry, will I?

The time I needed ID, I was on my commute into work and had my wallet containing my driving licence. The police were able to contact my wife and they also brought my twisted bike back. I had a nice ride in a helicopter and woke up a few hours later in a hospital.

Now I carry my mobile phone in my back pocket with my ID and contact details written on a label stuck on the back of the phone.

On one level, a degree of sympathy for the paramedics - with the astonishing proliferation of different systems and technologies.

On another? Surely the professionals (the paramedics I hope NOT to need, EVER; sorry, guys!) can come up with one simple, wearable/carryable standard, that they undertake to look for? Preferably not linked to somebody making a damned great profit. Or is that too simple?

Or maybe they have .... and I've missed it? In which case ....

I found out in June of last year(usual reasons for being in the back of one), that they no longer go through your pockets.
Small, home-made card, with details on in the trouser pocket. Fastened down it was hard to get to, cue the explanation on why they no longer go through the pockets.
