I’m looking for recommendations for getting my 35mm film processed. I havnt used a firm processor for some years now and I don’t really know where to start? If you can recommend a processing and printing firm that would be really great thank you.
My trusty 40 years old Nikon L35 AF which we have taken our entire stock of family photos.

Depends on quantity. If you have a lot it might be cheaper to buy the equipment.
Might be as easy as a holder and a WB correct back light using a phone or digital camera.

No, I’m thinking of using my 35mm Nikon as opposed to the digital camera which downloads the photos to laptop then they are forgetten about instead of being passed around to your friends and family.

Ah, stupid me. I thought you meant digitising film or slides.
Back in the day I think I used these guys but it is so long ago I can't be sure - https://www.digitalab.co.uk/film-processing/
Although they appear to have moved over to - https://riverandcoast.co.uk/film-photography/

Nice, Mr Ming!
Classy. I like the suggestion of trees in the background.

Since I can claim it against tax (and I want to wipe out the Facebook earnings), I've just ordered one of these for £388. My Sony is still great most of the time, but it's getting rather long in the tooth, is a bit battered/fragile (the fine electronics, such as the on-off switch, tend to get temperamental, and after a few drops, the lens scrunches a bit into place), and I suspect the software is outdated, albeit still functional.

Anyway, this was in the right price bracket for a jersey-pocket camera, and gets good reviews on Amazon, as well as being from a good stable. I'll get to play with it for my long French summer.

I've always had a decent camera until the autumn of last year when I sold my Lumix MFT GX80 and assorted lenses as I'd not used them for some long time, not least due to the bulk of carrying them around - a decent pixel smartphone had taken over. But I found I still had the itch so...

Bought a TG-7 last month and I love it. Phone in one pocket and TG-7 in the other - I can take it anywhere with me AND let the grandkids have a play around too. Great for macro and I'm sure you'll love it:

That is a superb camera for point and shoot plus it’s virtually indestructible too. Been looking at one for Mrs Christmas present.

I have forty years + of 6 x 4 family colour photographs and I would like to digitise our collection so my family can access them online and they are safe from destruction.
Can anyone suggest a suitable flat bed scanner or possibly a negative scanner please? I am thinking of the Canon LiDE 400 flatbed scanner for 6 x 4 colour photos unless someone knows better?

It's been 20 years since I did that so any info I have will be out of date so I'd suggest searching the internet for latest info. (Here? 😂)
I did it using a slide/film scanner and then followed up by simply using my DSLR for prints.
What will not have changed is that it is a very time consuming project. Very worthwhile though!

Edit - What was invaluable while I had the albums to hand in chronological order was to catalogue the digital file by date (YYYYMMDD if possible) so they could be sorted and easily found later.

As they are all colour photos they have no date we will have to date them by the children age and locations , Christmas will be easy,, fortunately we have very good memories, well SWIMBO has at least.
