Photographing (and stacking) the small ones has proven to be a challenge, as I discovered again this evening. The soft ground doesn’t help in that the tripod moves slightly when manually focusing.

I was thinking about the fun factor and if I’d get as much satisfaction using a new camera and macro lens with in camera focus stacking. I’d surely get better productivity.
I’ve toyed with the idea of buying macro bellows for huge magnification, but the realities of using that setup in the field has put me off…so far.
I don't particularly enjoy editing, so maybe I'll stick to the larger subject blurry stuff.

It's interesting thinking about what bits one actually enjoys. I certainly don't have the patience for fiddling around for ages with editing. I am having fun with the macro-micro on the OM (I think that that and its apparent ruggedness are its best features on my experience so far), but everything is still pretty much 'on the fly', grabbed en passant.

Yup, back in the murk of Devon.
Last communication with RJS was that he was stupidly busy. I'm grateful to him for making me more enthusiastic about modern architecture (he pointed me to some good links on Bluesky), and enjoyed his take on urban stuff here.

OK, you can probably guess my 'creative' idea for this one: I'm going to try to use the clone tool to rip out bits of me so I match the Catalano sculpture on the left. Might be a bit tricky, as the two shots were done handheld, so they aren't absolutely lined up, but should be a giggle.

Ha, clone tool job done, and it was a lot easier than I anticipated. I used a few reference points to line up where I cloned, and it's worked quite nicely.
