Cretinous cyclists

I very briefly toyed with the idea of putting this in Cyclist Down as a sort of advance notice but immediately decided that that would be disrespectful to the unfortunate cyclists there and to some of the unfortunate drivers who have innocently ended up in a shocking fatal incident.

So this is to the **** I spotted late last week from the front of a bus.

Guy cycling up the Walworth Road, south London - dressed cool, those narrow oblong glasses favoured by some, including that character from the Banana Splits (showing my age) - glasses some sort of day-glo colour for extra effect.

And juggling ffs.

After he'd gone a fair way up the Walworth Road he turned round and repeated his party trick going south.

I know bits of Camberwell, much to my amazement, have gone hipster, but this is too much.

Yes, interesting for a split second, but I would have had every sympathy with any angry drivers.

Guilty as charged.

I think it important to acknowledge/point out that there are some seriously bad cyclists about.

Or at least there are in London - I have seen/experienced some terrible things.

Otherwise it's all "my country/cyclist right or wrong" and "aggressive victimhood".

Someone advised me to have a mantra to chant whilst Time Trialling. For some reason, "One banana, two bananas, three bananas four" popped into my head!

So not only do I have to put myself through 10 miles of pain, it's now accompanied by several hundred repeats of:

"Tra la la, tra la la la, tra la la, tra la la la!"

I've had to juggle balls while cycling, but my other pair of shorts are quite comfortable.

I guess it boils down to what is worse:

1. Doing something that slows people down but is irritating
2. Doing something that puts other people in danger

I'm going with 2.

Ideally I'd rather be without 1 aswell, but I'd put all my efforts into eliminating the 2s before the 1s
