Why the hell do they do it? Driving along in stop/start traffic jam on a perfectly wide road, nonchalantly drifting in and out of the cycle lane. I almost had someone hit me, so I stopped and angrily told her through her open passenger window, "please could you get your car OUT of the cycle lane so cyclists can get through!". The response ... "Y'wot?" as she munched on her chewing gum like a cow chewing the cud.

Is it a mandatory cycle lane?

Jezston - yes, mandatory cycle lane, clearly marked, nice white lines that you you'll feel bumping against your tyres. Trouble is, they just don't give a sh*t.

dave - no, she wasn't texting, but I usually pass plenty who are!

Had one of those yesterday, lovely traffic jam in Gatley, all cars queued up nicely except for one who was taking up half of the cycle lane, gave her a 'friendly' wave as I squeezed past :hello:

Though later as I had to go on the outside of the queue further up I had a taxi driver actually move over to the left a bit as he saw me coming

I bet if you had been in front of her she'd be moaning about you not being in the cycle lane! Ah the joys of the modern hypocritical motorist.

Camera time?

Have you ever watched how people push a trolley around the supermarket?

That is also how most people view driving.

I've had a couple of trolly rage incidents.

First one I was doing my weekly shop and stopped to look at something pulled over next to the shelves. Next thing, someone rammed me in the back of the legs. Apparently I wasn't supposed to stop there.

Second one I had my, then, 2yo daughter walking beside the trolly. I could see someone coming on a collision course. I was stationary and had nowhere to go, so gave the edge of thier trolly a quick slap to block it and prevent it hitting her. Queue shouting match initiated by other shopper almost ending in fisticuffs.

 my dad used to do that to people. his favourite was, if he came across a couple nattering in the ailse and blocking it. was to ask them a couple of times if they would excuse him so he could pass and wait politely, then punt their trolley down the aisle in the direction he wished to travel if they ignored him - usually while he was still in uniform

i do miss him may he r.ip
