Superb century off 48 balls from Gurbaz for Afghanistan in the truncated first ODI against India. They were 26-3 off 4.3 overs but he has taken them to 142-4 having just been bowled by a beauty of a Yorker for 102.

HPCA stadium in Dharamsala is possibly the most spectacular sports ground in the world. Even better than Pontypool Park!

Very odd that given how much trouble Jofra had Phillips in late yday, he's only just come on this morning, and taken a wicket...

Also didn't help Duckett dropping a dolly
gifted them 50 odd runs

I was at the oval yesterday and they lost the match in that first hour. The plan coming out of the dressing room was to bowl short and hope for the best. Sonny Baker was never going to be accurate or quick enough. After three overs and 30 runs there was no pressure on the batsmen and they were well set against the new ball. Archer wasn’t even given the new ball, it very soon went to Bethell! Absolutely clueless from McCullum and didn’t reflect well on Root. I was with Andy Caddick at lunchtime and he was furious, effing and jeffing. All the momentum went to NZ. The batting was ok but nobody got the big score that was needed. The whole selection was strange and unbalanced without an alrounder. They look to be heading to defeat tomorrow.

#StokesGate

Vaughan, Agnew and Sir Alastair Cook all campaigned for Cap'n Ben to play in the next test (during last night's telly highlights).

Lord Botham has expressed shock that players would party post-match, but even Durham's boss said Stokes shouldn't be playing for them today, when he should be captaining England.
