Pog really knocked it off in the last 200m, gap to Vingegaard halved

Yeah . Very much so .

Was Pog just trolling when he played domestique? 😂
The way he effortlessly made it back to the front must have been heart breaking.

I found the bit where Kuss attacked presumably to set something up for a Jonas attack only to then be left for dead as Pog attacked past him amusing. If it had been a cartoon he’d have been left spinning around in the slipstream or choking in a cloud of dust.

For me Pog had things totally under control and was possibly even toying with Jonas and Lipowitz when they nearly closed. He just seem to pick the pace up a bit again with little effort and reopened a gap that he knew he could hold. He easily added another 10” near the top before knocking it into first gear and cruising to the line whereas Jonas looked to be fighting hard to limit his losses. Who knows though? Maybe both were playing poker and Jonas has something in store for tomorrow.

Work to gain time, only to swan around at the finish.
Not the wisest course of action in my book.

I’m not convinced he worked all that hard. The first attack was brutal but after that he just wound the pace up a bit when he felt he needed to. They were the same pace with a 20” gap for most of the climb, Jonas seemed to work really hard in the last km to reduce that by a few seconds, most of which Pog regained from bonuses. He also completely destroyed the VLAB ‘train’.

Pog extended his lead beyond 30secs near the top, then dialled back his effort near the finish.

Vine, looked cooked as he rolled over the finish

Everyone else was literally blown away.

Tomorrow, I expect UAE will just follow the nearest contenders to the finish

I can't see anyone beating Pogacar at the TdF barring injury or illness
