Possibly, but I would say a preference not to suspend my disbelief rather than an inability. As I said, there are the odd exceptions. But the thought of going to the cinema just to pass an evening, then pick a film to watch is alien to me. If I go to the cinema, it is because I really want to see a particular film (last visit was to see Spectre, and despite looking forward to it, I still fell asleep).I think it's called "an inability to suspend your disbelief". Something I struggle with more as I get older.
Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Robin Williams and Matt Damon are best avoided.
Note... anyone who dismisses a film because it's subtitled is a xenophobe (or possibly dyslexic).

the green mile bored me shitless... who wants to watch Tom fecking Hanks struggling to pee for god knows how many hours???The Green Mile
Mission Impossible - the first two, the rest were crap
Mrs Doubtfire
Matt Damon - give you that one, The Bourne films were his chance to make some great films, but unfortunately they were not true to the books.
My general rule:
Book adaptations - Lord of the Rings Trilogy was brilliant, but again missed/changed vital bits from the book. Harry Potter was pretty true to the books, but apart from those I tend to find most very disappointing.
There are of course exceptions to the rules (in very rare cases). Terminator 2 for instance, which to me is far better than the original
Rebooted, re-imagined, reinterpreted, re-envisioned....
All translations for "We are trying to cash in on the popularity of the orifinal, but the film has very little to do with the original and is dross"

mission impossible... the TV series was ok in a nostalgic kind of way, the films were crap
mrs doubtfire... I'd rather eat my own ears than watch that again
I wouldn't agree with that... I tried watching one with subtitles a few weeks ago.... I spent the whole time reading the bottom of the screen that I gave up as I was missing all the visual stuff, facial expressions and body language. Mr Summerdays and baby Summerling did enjoy it, and I just asked questions occasionally to find out where the plot was going. Whereas I put subtitles on for one on Friday where I was occasionally missing some bits due to strong accents and that was fine as I didn't need to continually watch the bottom of the screen.Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Robin Williams and Matt Damon are best avoided.

Not necessarily, it is hard to follow a film if you are reading subtitles, you can miss some of the action.
