Fully agree with how stoopid those Muppets are.
Some people just don't know when to STFU.

Don't forget the date in the body of the letter ..12.30 on xxxxxx

Not bad at all. When will folk realise they can't behave like this in company vehicles, that are easily traced. BT won't like it......

Mikey, was it you who once had a run in with that "Vogon" bus driver, and then took his picture?
That was so funny, a real dead ringer.

It might be the scary bus overtake on youtube? Not a run-in though, he just passed me very close so I filmed him. For that and this one, as for most incidents I manage to keep my calm. That took a lot of practice and hard work, in the early days the red mist would descend far too often. What helped a lot was realising how much more effective remaining calm is, getting angry almost never helps your case.

Great letter - just don't start it with an apology.

He was breaking the law and endangering others - you were fully entitled to record that. F*ck his so-called 'privacy'.

Secondly, you were threatened and racially abused. That warrants summary dismissal in most companies, and in my view you should have no reservations about reporting scum like that.

Yes, you decided to pull him up on it and you initiated the conversation, so to speak, but that does not justify threats of violence and out-and-out racism.

In fact, aren't both of those things criminal offences? I would write to say you are considering bringing police prosecution, and would like the details of the driver.

Good letter Mike, would agree with the minor tweaks mentioned earlier. Agree strongly that you should inform the police. I don't suppose there is much they could do without other witnesses but would give more weight to your letter. Keep up the good work.

About 18 months ago i emailed BT Open Reach about one of their employees gassing away on their mobile phone when driving. I was pleasantly surprised to get a telephone call a few days later from the local depot manager concerning the issue. He apologised for the bloke's behaviour and said he would remind the staff about mobile phone use when driving, though i doubt he did anything about my suggestion that they fit cameras in their vehicles to keep an eye on their employees!

Hope your complaint produces better results than mine did - i still see BT Open Reach drivers brazenly flouting the law!

It is unlawful to spy on your employees. There have been a lot of companies "done" for exactly this reason.

I think the police need to start clamping down on people using phones whilst driving but it seems they just can't be bothered> I see loads during my daily commute (the best was an artic driver going round an island whilst on the phone). An on the spot fine of £40 and/or confiscate the phone on the spot should do it.

Charming behaviour

As already commented – don’t start it as an apology – just keep it as objective as possible – as a statement to court/the police. I’d also cc it to the local paper/local mp/local police/oftel (or whoever it is now) etc
