Anyone know if they will fit on a Scott Speedster 09 ? Clearance looks very tight but apparently they dont need much.

I put thrm on my racing bike which had a clearance of probably less than 10 mm. They are waifer thin. The only problem I had with them was that I could not get the front mudguard centred properly over the front wheel. Yoiu use a cable tie to attach it to the front brake and then every time you squeezed the front brake the front mudguard also moved. They are definitely a better job than the sort you but in halfords but overall I was not completely satisfied with them. The back one woks fine which is probably the most important one in order to keep your backside dry.

I put them on my Specialized Secteur but they don't work well with 28mm tyres, so I took them off again.

Dont see any reason why not, I have mine fitted to my winter bike (focus) and theres probably about 5mm of clearance. Can be a bit fiddely to fit but well worth it.

Thanks for the replies

They seem to get good reviews so will be cycling in to Tredz tommorow if the snow is gone by then.

I have an old crud catcher MTB type thing hanging off the seatpost that stops the spray going up my back but hoping these will keep the bike a bit cleaner (and look the part).

PS fitted this afternoon look smart and seem to do the job on a quick spin around the town.

Very close clearance on my Scott so I would think they would fit virtually any bike.

Initially thought I had a prob getting the back wheel to spin freely, couldnt work out where it was rubbing until I noticed the cable tie had gone under the guard on one side instead of through the slot its intended to go through .In my defence the light in the shed isnt very good :-) honest..

update on the cruds, diud an 18 mile ride today on wet roads they work great no spray on me and bike much much cleaner than it would have been.

Back one is perfect doesnt rub at all and the brushes rarely seem to contact the rims . Front one I have to bend up the leading edge a bit before each ride to stop it rubbing but this is not a problem I am hoping eventually it will retain the shape.

They look good Banjo-I have the race blades on my Secteur but those seem to cover more of the tyre than mine.
Very little clearance on my bike too,may look into getting some of those.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Unfortunate that the Roadracers don't extend a bit further down towards the bottom bracket area, as you still get a lot of crap spraying over the front changer. I'm thinking about possible modification - some sort of mudflap type thingy maybe, riveted to end of blade, and attached to seat tube with cable ties??? Anyone tried this or anything similar?

Worth having a look at that as you are right that is the one area that still gets dirty. As suggested a section out of a curved plastic bottle may well do it and probably look ok if painted black.
