When I make any crumble I always strain of any fluid left over from the stewing process in to a glass for drinking later does anyone else do the same?

Doesn't feel like a crumble time of year, but we had another Summer Pudding earlier, with a generous qty of double cream; absolutely perfect!

Was made with raspberries, strawberries & currents, all fresh from the allotment, and blackberries from the freezer (but also originally from the allotment).

Had three servings!

There's nothing nicer than a crumble made with freshly grown produce

On yesterday's ride a house had some quince outside foc so me being.e stopped and put one in my pocket with the hope of using it.

Having never had or anything to do with one before I was hoping to be able to add it to a crumble but once home and a bit of googling told me what I needed to know.

So I have just chopped it in to quarters and placed it around the garden to see what of our garden visitors will be interested in it ?

Meanwhile an apple crumble has just been made and is currently in the oven cooking.

I put quince pears in apple crumbles. They give you a lovely fragrant, lemony note.

Also lovely poached in spiced sugar syrup, or turned into jelly and membrillo.

Can't eat 'em raw, but they're lush cooked. They go a lovely pink colour, too.
