This time last year I took out CTC travel insurance with the intention of covering my bike while abroad. Bicycle loss is specifically stated in the (white) policy booklet but on renewing the policy today I have discovered that it was not covered at all!

Bike insurance was my main reason for choosing CTC rather than any other company.

You have to check that bike loss is itemised on the yellow validation certificate.

Noone was answering the phones at Citybond Suretravel yesterday either.;)

Overall lousy service I reckon:angry:.

I've just applied to this lot for my trip

For a month to insure a bike valued up to £1500 costs £9.65 or £11.25 depending where you live.

I had exactly the same experience - I tried to renew on line and ended up with no cycles covered and a mysterious 17 days of winter sports cover that I'd not asked for. I phoned up the ever charming Imran who suggested that I'd done something wrong in his usual sneering manner. He then said that he couldn't do anything about it until the next day. Phoned up the next day and he said that he didn't have access to my records and would I mind eMailing them, but not to the address on the schedule as it's not checked regularly. Eventually had a sensible conversation with Paula this morning who sorted everything out and added our bikes to the policy.

Good old fashioned British service.

I renewed my insurance online (from the link from the CTC website). You have to enter the "Number of Cycles" on the first page (I missed it myself the first time).

See http://www.citybond.co.uk/Quotestage.jsp?lstschemename=2222

This is weird. You get different options when you click on that link at different times. The only way you can consistently get the right page to display is to click on a link from the CTC travel insurance page:

http://www.citybond.co.uk/index.jsp?agtintref=CTIN01

Looks like the first link uses the site you linked from, and if it was the CTC one, then it displays the correct options (such as number of bikes).
