I've thought about them in the past, but never been convinced whether they are appropriate for a leisure and utility cyclist like me. When the CTC renewal comes due I'll be taking another look though, particularly if CTC decides to change much.
When I joined CTC (predominantly to get the insurance cover) British Cycling had an offer that was cheper than CTC, but I don't like the "cycling is a sport" ethos of British cyling, or their mandatory helmets rules at races/events.
Their cycle insurance looks much the same too. With the new excess on my house insurance I've been thinking whether separate insurance would be a good idea.
