CTC 'Rebranding'

Having ridden with a few different ctc groups, I'd certainly describe the pace as a "touring" one.

British Cycling. Their basic 'Ride' membership gives exactly the same insurance cover as CTC membership - but for much less money.

I've thought about them in the past, but never been convinced whether they are appropriate for a leisure and utility cyclist like me. When the CTC renewal comes due I'll be taking another look though, particularly if CTC decides to change much.

British Cycling, or a local cycling club.

When I joined CTC (predominantly to get the insurance cover) British Cycling had an offer that was cheper than CTC, but I don't like the "cycling is a sport" ethos of British cyling, or their mandatory helmets rules at races/events.

It's exactly the same insurance as the CTC insurance. It's even the same underwriters.

Their cycle insurance looks much the same too. With the new excess on my house insurance I've been thinking whether separate insurance would be a good idea.

CTC life member here. I'm quids in with the insurance.
