Hi guys

Not sure if anyone will know but I brought a cube agree gtc race 4-6 weeks ago and was looking at getting a new saddle as the standard one is not very comfy.

I noticed on the bike I have a fizik Antares saddle but looking at all the websites I should have a sella Italia saddle.

Anyone heard of this before? I'm going to ring the lbs tomorrow and see what's happened

I'm sure that somewhere there will a line saying something like,

"Bike specification correct at time of printing, the manufacturer reserves the right to change the specification without notice or warning"

Or words to that effect.

The Antares is a reasonably high spec saddle, so technically you have not lost out in the change. It's unfortunate that it does not suit your anatomy - but that could be the case with the original spec as well.

Therein lies the trouble with saddles, you can't just go and test them out.

I don't think I've ever sat on a bike in a shop and thought bloody hell that's uncomfortable.

What might feel great on a static bike in a shop might well be crippling after 10 miles of real world cycling.

I've mentioned it before, but my LBS has a fantastic system where it lets you test drive saddles. It has quite a few of them in a horrible garish purple. You can take the saddle, try it out on your bike for a week and then after that either return it with a 'no thanks' or return it and buy the proper one.
