Just seen this Cube for around the £900 mark. Dynamo Lights and rack included. I know it’s a drop bar but it’s an ideal winter bike and a testament to Cube’s great value bikes. I really like it.

Look at the Whyte R7 range of flat bar bikes? Cycle surgery sell them
Evans sell Pinnacle
Are you looking for a commuter as its on C2W, so something nimble for traffic?
Not especially, I have an old Ridgeback Genesis Day 00 that I commute on, I am looking for something more robust capable of carrying me on weekend jaunts (carrying tent etc) along the NCN routes - I will be starting along NCN 2 initially.

Hi, I am looking to do some weekend touring mainly along NCN2 away the moment. I have looked around and am keen on buying a new Cube Travel through the cycle to work scheme from Evans. Unfortunately Evan's don't stock the bike but can do a special order if they get the product details from Cube.......and here lies the problem. I have rung, emailed and messaged on FB and Evan's have also tried but have had no response from Cube!!

I am contemplating whether I need to choose something different - any thoughts, I like the Cube as it has the panniers dynamo lights, flat bar etc all integrated but open to suggestions. Budget is around £800.

I just bought a Cube Travel SL from ChainReaction.

Great, are you pleased with it, I've changed my mind and gone with a Trek FX3 Equipped https://www.trekbikes.com/gb/en_GB/bikes/hybrid-bikes/fitness-bikes/fx/fx-3-equipped/p/28898/

No. The bike arrived with damage straight out of it's bike box, not from transit, but from what looks like CRC themselves and manufacturer. Several significant defects. I am not best pleased as you can imagine and 'am currently arguing with them how to best to resolve this. They are not an easy company to deal with when things go wrong. I would NOT recommend buying a bike from them. Defects and damage aside the bike seems ok. Would make an excellent commuter and tourer making for very low maintenance with the Gates belt drive and Alfine 8spd IHG which is why I bought it.

I have an old Trek 7500 Multitrack which was my first foray into hybrid bikes which is a lovely bike, still in very good condition. Frame is aluminium, really strong, but strangely for aluminium pretty compliant to ride. It is much upgraded in terms of components for the purpose of touring. I seldom ride it now. Should sell it really but can't bring myself to part with it. The new FX range looks good although I saw some of these bikes in the flesh a few years ago and they look quite fragile compared to mine from which they derive.

HTH.
