Yes, that's a good point and of course all good things come at a cost don't they?

I suppose even if it's quick release or held on with Velcro straps it would be pretty easy to nick.

Looking at the distance between the lower pannier rails and the top section of the rack, it seem unlikely that you could have a rack bag and panniers mounted at the same time?

the point of quick release is you quickly sling it over your shoulder when you lock the bike up / leave the bike so it doesn't get nicked.

I have a klick-fix bar bar so when doing that sort of riding anything valuable goes in that and comes to the cafe stop with me. if someone wants to rummage thru a spare top in my frame bag, then so be it....
