Thinking of buying aim 100 miles a week, mix of road, canals footpaths, field tracks. At times cycle path up hills. Is this suitable and good value for about £500
Hi, welcome to Cycle Chat. Looks like a good bike, triple chainset, hydraulic brakes, not sure of the need for suspension fork, tends to add unnecessary weight for little benefit.. but that's open for debate. Otherwise, I'd say it would be fine for what you need.
It'll make the bike heavier going up hills, but maybe more comfortable going down steep bumpy off road ones. If you really want the suspension fork (unnecessary for roads, canal paths, parks), at least make sure it has a lock out for those uses where it'll just be a slowing factor otherwise. You'll get fitter though doing 100 miles a week with one versus a lighter more road oriented bike
