Cube Pelaton Race or Bianchi Via Nirone 7 Tiagra?

Bianchi are great at building high end frames. The low-end are not that amazing. I like my Nirone, but knowing what I know now, I like the Cube better.

Also I like my Nirone now - having spent cca £1000 on upgrades (gruppo, wheelset, BB, brakes). The Cube comes with better spec, and I would not have had to upgrade so much. I am not unhappy with my choice, but I do know that I will be swapping out the frame for a more agressive and lighter one within the next year or so.

PS: I have a Cube as well (not the Peloton).

I have a 2011 via nirone with tiagra and i like it . I was split between 3 bikes when i chose it .The deciding factor for me was which one i liked the look of the most . Shallow maybe but i am no expert and had to decide somehow

Whoops, no that should be 9000km. Yes, I know I commited heresy by using Shimano, but I had an offer on a groupset I couldn't refuse...

No worries mate, I have Ultegra on two of my bikes (not Italian mind) and it's a great bit of kit. The Bianchi has Centaur. Which is also great

Via Nirone owner here too, and i think i'd be seriously tempted by the Cube as well, despite loving my Bianchi.
Why ?
105 over Tiagra for a start. Like others, i just dont like the idea of Shimano on a Bianchi, just a pointless personal thing, JMO.
Wheelsets ? Both my Bianchis have/had the WS32 wheelsets on, bombproof and durable. I see the new Bianchis have a different wheelset on now, and seem to remember someone writing they'd had problems...perhaps someone can enlighten us, i cant remember what it was i read.
TBF, ive no idea about the wheelset on the Cube.
The Bianchi does look fabulous...but so does the Cube (IMO)
Is the cube a sportive type bike ?

FWIW my Cannondale has Shimano DA, my Ribble has Campag Veloce. I'm not comparing the two as they are at opposite ends of their spectrums. While I love Shimano I wouldn't entertain Campag on anything other than my commuter. I'd hate riding the CAAD if it had Campy gearing. To be fair perhaps Record or Super Record shifts differently, I don't know, I've never bought it and I never will as I couldn't afford to make a mistake of that grandeur!, but Campy at the Veloce end of the range I find to be very agricultural, and as for Campag Power Torque, what the hell is all that about. Why design cranks that need a special puller to remove them just to change the bearings? Those pesky Italians, always over complicating things. Give me Hollowtech II everytime. When the cranks and mechs are ready for changing on my commuter I'll be putting 105 on it guaranteed

I have recently bought a peloton race compact. Being a newbie cyclist I cant compare it too other bikes.

The bike itself has been faultless and a dream to ride, I've covered 200 miles in the two weeks I've had it with no issues.

I believe the lead time on the cubes is still extreme, I ordered October and it didn't arrive till mid January.

Sorry I'm not much help but I don't think yous be disappointed if you bought one

Gbb - the wheels on the cube are easton ea30 aero, I had the Vista sl (pretty much the same) on my previous boardman & I couldn't fault them. Look great too.

Seems to me the Cube is the choice of the head and Bianchi is the choice of the heart. I've already seen the Bianchi and like it a lot, but its going to be at least another 2 weeks before my LBS gets any of the Cube in stock. I can wait though because my company's c2w scheme wont be opening again until about April.

I got a Peloton Race in SL colours on C2W. The wheels are things of great beauty and spin like a dream. It's a pretty relaxed geometry, Sportive would describe it well. They are a bit weird sizing, most fitting guides tell me 56 but a 58 Cube is about perfect. Wisdom suggests go up a size unless your arms are very short.

Have a look at it in SL colours, as there may be some left.........( only spec difference between the two is front mech and shifters by the way)
